WATER CODE SECTIONS 13267 AND 13383 ORDER FOR THE DETERMINATION OF THE PRESENCE OF PER- AND POLYFLUOROALKYL SUBSTANCES AT CHROME PLATING FACILITIES ORDER WQ 2019-0045-DWQ Pursuant to Water Code sections 13267 and 13383, The State Water Resources Control Board (State Water Board) requires you to submit information as described below. Failure to comply with this Order may subject you to civil liability of up to $5,000 per day for each day in which the violation occurs. Your site is identified in Attachment 1 as a chrome plating facility that has stored and/or used fume suppressants or other substances that may contain per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). Therefore, you are required to submit the information in Attachment 2 to the appropriate Regional Water Quality Control Board (Regional Water Board) identified in the cover letter.

The DOD admits that 564 public and private drinking water systems in communities adjacent to US bases, including nine overseas, tested above the EPA's Lifetime Health Advisory of 70 ppt.
